Travel Hack: How to find cheap flights

Almost all family and friends ask how I can afford to travel all the time. Well folks, I'm finally going to deliver my secret. Why on earth would you spend more money on things when you don't have too? Most people who know me, know I HATE spending money on things if I know I can get it cheaper from somewhere else. My goal is to inspire you to LIVE life and do it without breaking the bank.

Before I get started, I should let you know, YOU NEED TO DO YOUR RESEARCH!

This means, always check the states, cities, or countries high travel season and travel on the off season. You are going to see all the same beautiful things without tons of people and you are going to get it cheaper.

My biggest secret: Always plan around FLIGHTS!

Flights are hands down, the most expensive thing you could spend money on. If you book a hotel or an air BnB first then you cannot be flexible with your flights and prices. I use two websites for flights. Believe it or not, it my hobby. I love seeing and dreaming where I could travel tomorrow for super cheap.

My go to for booking flights is Google Flights.

I spend HOURS trying to make sure that it is actually the cheapest flight; It ALWAYS is.

My second site is Skyscanner

Pretty often they have really really good deals on flights which is why I always double check Google Flights using this website.

Im going to use Google flights for all my examples (its my favorite)

1) If you don't care about where you go and just want to escape, I ESPECIALLY recommend this site. I know that some people have places they really want to go and cross off their list. Trust me, I get it. But if you are just the slightest bit flexible, you WON'T regret it.

Type in your home airport and estimated dates of when you want to go. Leave the destination blank to see the cheapest places to travel for those dates.

For example)

Okay, Hawaii it is, Mahalo.

2) So, lets say you are the type of person who already knows where you want to go. Im going to use Paris, France as an example. I already did research and I know that November to February is the slow season (excluding holiday weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years)

I would then type my home airport, then the destination. The dates won't matter because you can just choose whenever its cheapest. Click on where you would for the departure day and a monthly price sheet will pop up. Scroll to the month you know is the off season, and the dates that are highlighted green are going to be cheapest flights Google could find. MAGIC!

For example)

$378 ROUND TRIP?! YES, you are seeing that right!

Goodbye US, bonjour Paris.

Im not lying when I say I could spend hours searching for my next flight. My guilty pleasure is no longer a secret. Have fun yourself and see what next adventure is calling your name.

Goodbye my travel bugs,

The Nature Nomads.
