Top 5 place to go in Thailand

Bangkok

This is a pretty obvious one but I wanted to highlight a few things. There is so much to do here! DO NOT come here without a plan. There will be a lot of locals trying to stop you on ever corner asking you to do a tour with them. They especially talk to the ones who look like they are aimlessly walking around. Just have a plan and stick to it, you can easily get distracting and then look back and wish you had more time!

Chiang Mai

I LOVED Chiang Mai for many reasons. There is great hiking, beautiful temples and home of the best elephant sanctuaries. This city is a lot smaller then Bangkok but still has a lot of things to offer without getting too overwhelmed. On your way from Bangkok, take the train. You can see all the little Thai towns in-between the two big cities.

Chiang Rai

The most northern part of Thailand is a smaller version of Chiang Mai, in my opinion! However, my favorite part about this town is the white temple (Wat Rong Khun), random abandoned buildings and the outdoors. Plus, when you are in Thailand during the hottest time of the year, this area of the country will help you cool down!

Pai

Outside of Chiang Mai, this beautiful hidden gem. Im speaking directly out of regret!!!! I did not go to this village and I can't even tell you how disappointed I am. I heard about this town as we were leaving the county. I heard so much about how this laid back town is full and rich in ancient Thai culture and how it is the one place you can find it authentically. Ive heard more positive things about this town then negative so I wish I would have gone!

Phuket and surrounding islands

There are A LOT of tiny islands you can explore in the southern most part of Thailand. All those infamous boats on the water and monkeys on the beach can all be found here. I honestly wish I had spent less time in Bangkok and more time down south, that how beautiful this area was. This country has some of the bluest waters! All the islands have some kind of history which can keep you entertained. If you love beaches as much as I do, GO!
